Yoga after dinner

A fifteen-minute sequence after the plates clears the table and the day together: folds, twists, and a long, warm finish.

Walk the sequence down

Begin standing with slow rolls, fold forward, step back to a gentle lunge, and settle seated for twists. Each shape six breaths, the whole descent fifteen minutes, the room already lamp-lit.

Nothing demanding, nothing memorable: the sequence must survive the tired evening, and simple sequences do. Complicated ones become articles rather than practices.

Finish warm and flat

Blanket over the legs, flat on the floor, five minutes. The digestion thanks the twist, the shoulders thank the fold, and the nervous system thanks the whole arrangement.

Then bed, while the sequence’s warmth is still in the body. The gap between practice and sleep is where the day re-enters; keep it short.
